I have been giving clinical supervision and consultation to practicum students and more experienced mental health practitioners for over six years. The Canadian Association for Social Workers Education Field Instructor course provided me with supervisory skills and advanced knowledge necessary to facilitate student understanding and application of direct-practice skills, values, and ethics. In my current capacity as a graduate-level field instructor at the University of British Columbia’s Master of Social Work program and at Simon Fraser University’s Counselling Psychology program, I’ve been providing field education to prospective mental health providers—helping them to develop and use critical-thinking skills, to integrate theory and practice, and to apply their advanced practice skills.
This rewarding experience has encouraged me to offer clinical supervision for master’s-level professionals (i.e., RSWs, RCSWs, CCCs, and RCCs) and those who are working toward their registration hours with the BCCSW and the BCACC. I understand the importance of having high-quality clinical supervision while accumulating clinical hours and preparing for the licensing examination. I can coordinate this supervision with your workplace and will provide tools and interventions that are specific to your caseload and your learning experience.
Whether you’re interested in formal supervision so that you can earn hours toward registration under the BCCSW & BCACC guidelines, or you just want extra support and guidance in your challenging work from someone outside your workplace—feel free to check in to see if I’m a good fit for what you’re looking for.
